Square Breathing

Use square breathing to soothe your nervous system and re-center. Post this image somewhere that will remind you to breathe before you: start your day, step into a meeting, or relax after a difficult conversation.

Work your way around the square:

  • Inhale for a count of four

  • Pause for a count of four

  • Exhale for a count of four

  • Pause for a count of four

Repeat 3-4 times. When you’re finished, come back to your normal breathing rhythm and check in with how you feel.
